An estimator turns drawings and specifications into a number you can bid. They measure quantities from the plan set, price materials and labour against current rates, solicit and level subcontractor quotes, flag scope gaps and exclusions, and assemble the final bid package. On live projects they also price change orders and maintain the cost database the next bid is built from.
